1.2. By submitting a registration application, applicants acknowledge that they have read, understood and accepted these Terms.
1.3. LEVMUN is an independently organised Model United Nations conference and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the United Nations.
1.4. Registration is additionally subject to the Delegate Declaration & Code of Conduct, Privacy Notice, and Safeguarding and Emergency Acknowledgement.
1.5. Applicants under 18 must obtain the required authorisation of a parent or legal guardian.
2. Registration and Admission
2.1. Submission of an application does not automatically guarantee acceptance or participation.
2.2. The LEVMUN Secretariat reserves the right to evaluate applications based on eligibility, capacity, academic suitability, safeguarding requirements and the accuracy of submitted information.
2.3. Registration is considered confirmed only after the application has been approved, payment has been verified, all mandatory documentation has been completed, and official confirmation has been issued.
2.4. The Secretariat may request additional information or supporting documentation when reasonably necessary.
2.5. Incomplete, fraudulent, misleading or otherwise invalid applications may be rejected or cancelled.
2.6. Registration is personal and non-transferable. Any proposed transfer requires prior written authorisation from the Secretariat.
2.7. The Secretariat may close registration before the published deadline if capacity is reached or operational circumstances require it.
3. Registration Fees
3.1. All registration fees are denominated in United States dollars (USD).
3.2. Three registration tiers apply:
Early Bird — USD 40: From 15 October 2026 at 16:00 until 24 October 2026 at 16:00.

3.3. All times refer to Beirut local time.
3.4. The applicable fee is determined by the registration tier in effect when the application is successfully submitted.
3.5. Once assigned, the registration fee remains fixed for that application, regardless of subsequent changes to the available tiers.
3.6. Registration fees cover participation in the conference and the standard activities and materials made available to delegates. Personal expenses, transportation and accommodation are excluded unless expressly stated otherwise.
3.7. Special discounts, complimentary registrations or fee adjustments are valid only when expressly authorised by the Secretariat.

4.3. Applicants are responsible for ensuring that the correct amount is transferred to the designated recipient.
4.4. Any applicable transaction fees must be covered by the sender unless otherwise communicated by the Secretariat.
4.5. Payment is recognised only after successful verification by the Secretariat. Submission of a receipt or transaction screenshot does not independently constitute proof of payment.
4.6. The final payment deadline is 1 December 2026 at 17:00 Beirut local time.
4.7. Failure to complete payment by the prescribed deadline may result in cancellation of the application, forfeiture of the reserved place and reassignment of available capacity.
4.8. Payment extensions or alternative arrangements are granted only with express written approval from the Secretariat.
4.9. Applicants experiencing payment difficulties must contact delegations@levantmun.org before the applicable deadline.
4.10. LEVMUN reserves the right to investigate irregular transactions, duplicate payments, suspected fraud and discrepancies in payment records.
5. Withdrawal and Refund Requests
5.1. All withdrawal requests must be submitted formally and exclusively by email to delegations@levantmun.org.
5.2. The request must clearly identify the applicant, include their Delegate ID, provide a valid and sufficiently detailed reason for withdrawal, and be accompanied by relevant supporting evidence or documentation.
5.3. Submission of a withdrawal request does not automatically constitute its approval or establish an entitlement to a refund.
5.4. All withdrawal requests, supporting evidence, exceptional circumstances and any associated refund arrangements are subject to individual assessment and determination by LEVMUN management, in accordance with applicable law.
5.5. Management may request further clarification, additional documentation or verification before reaching a determination.
5.6. Withdrawal procedures, eligibility for discretionary refunds, applicable conditions, refund amounts and processing arrangements shall be communicated individually following management's review.
5.7. Non-attendance, personal inconvenience, changes in preference or failure to participate do not automatically establish grounds for reimbursement.
5.8. Any decision concerning a discretionary refund must be expressly communicated in writing by the Secretariat. No informal statement or representation constitutes a binding refund approval.
5.9. Nothing in this section limits or excludes any mandatory withdrawal, reimbursement or consumer rights available under applicable law.
6. Committee and Country Allocations
6.1. Applicants may indicate committee preferences where the registration system permits.
6.2. Committee and country assignments are determined by the Academic Affairs Department according to academic suitability, availability, committee requirements and the conference's overall allocation framework.
6.3. Preferences are considered but are not guaranteed.
6.4. LEVMUN reserves the right to adjust allocations, committee structures or academic arrangements where reasonably necessary.
6.5. Dissatisfaction with a committee or country assignment does not automatically entitle an applicant to a refund.
6.6. Where a confirmed allocation becomes unavailable because of substantial changes initiated by LEVMUN, the Secretariat shall assess appropriate alternatives or remedies in accordance with applicable law.
7. Cancellation, Postponement and Changes
7.1. LEVMUN reserves the right to postpone, relocate, modify, suspend or cancel the conference when reasonably necessary because of security concerns, public health circumstances, venue unavailability, governmental measures, force majeure or other significant operational circumstances.
7.2. The Secretariat shall notify affected participants of material changes as promptly as reasonably practicable.
7.3. In the event of complete conference cancellation, registration fees paid for the cancelled conference shall be refunded.
7.4. If the conference is postponed, delegates shall be offered the opportunity to retain their registration for the rescheduled dates or request reimbursement.
7.5. Where a material alteration substantially affects the participation originally offered, appropriate remedies shall be determined in accordance with applicable law.
7.6. LEVMUN does not assume responsibility for independently arranged transportation, accommodation or other third-party expenses, except where liability arises under applicable law.
7.7. Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Suspension, Removal and Disqualification
8.1. All registered participants must comply with the LEVMUN Delegate Declaration & Code of Conduct, academic regulations, safeguarding requirements and lawful instructions issued by authorised conference personnel.
8.2. LEVMUN may impose proportionate disciplinary measures, including warnings, restrictions, suspension or removal, in response to violations.
8.3. Serious misconduct, threats to participant safety, harassment, fraudulent conduct or substantial breaches of conference regulations may justify immediate protective action.
8.4. Final disciplinary decisions shall be subject to appropriate review and procedural fairness, except where immediate protective measures are necessary.
8.5. Disciplinary removal does not automatically entitle a participant to reimbursement. Any refund request shall be evaluated in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the case.
8.6. No participant shall be penalised for making a genuine safeguarding report or good-faith complaint.
9. Responsibilities and Liability
9.1. Participants are responsible for providing accurate registration information, meeting administrative deadlines and complying with applicable conference requirements.
9.2. Participants are expected to exercise reasonable care regarding their personal belongings and the property of the conference and venue.
9.3. LEVMUN does not guarantee particular committee allocations, awards, academic results or other individual outcomes.
9.4. LEVMUN shall take reasonable measures to ensure safe and orderly conference operations, including appropriate safeguarding arrangements for minors.
9.5. Participants may be held responsible, subject to applicable law, for deliberate or negligent damage to conference or venue property.
9.6. LEVMUN shall not be liable for circumstances beyond its reasonable control except to the extent that responsibility arises under applicable law.
9.7. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for unlawful conduct, legally actionable negligence or breaches of non-excludable duties of care.
10. Applicants Under 18
10.1. Applicants under 18 must obtain the necessary parent or legal guardian authorisation before their participation can be confirmed.
10.2. The Secretariat may request verification of guardian information and emergency contact details.
10.3. Parent or guardian authorisation does not remove the conference's applicable safeguarding responsibilities.
10.4. Failure to provide valid authorisation or mandatory safeguarding information may result in refusal or suspension of registration.
11. Disputes and Administrative Review
11.1. Enquiries concerning registration, payments, withdrawal requests, refunds or administrative decisions must be directed to delegations@levantmun.org.
11.2. The Secretariat may request relevant documentation to investigate a disputed transaction or administrative matter.
11.3. Applicants may request written reconsideration of an administrative decision by presenting relevant grounds and supporting evidence.
11.4. LEVMUN management shall review such requests fairly, reasonably and consistently with applicable law.
11.5. Nothing in these Terms restricts the right to seek assistance from competent authorities or pursue available legal remedies.
12. Amendments and Governing Law
12.1. LEVMUN may revise these Terms to reflect legitimate operational requirements, legal obligations or administrative changes.
12.2. Material amendments affecting existing registrations shall be communicated to affected participants and shall not retroactively diminish accrued contractual or statutory rights without a lawful basis.
12.3. The version accepted by each applicant at the time of registration shall be retained for administrative reference.
12.4. These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of the Lebanese Republic.
12.5. If any provision is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue to apply insofar as legally permissible.

LEVMUN Delegate Declaration & Code of Conduct
Version 1.0 · published 15 October 2026, 18:46 GMT+3
1. Scope and declaration
This Code applies to every registered delegate during conference activities, official communications and conference-related interactions. Delegates must provide accurate registration details, follow lawful instructions, respect venue rules and act with honesty and consideration. Participation does not confer any entitlement to a particular committee, country, award or speaking opportunity.
2. Respect and non-discrimination
Harassment, bullying, discriminatory abuse, sexual harassment, intimidation, threats, retaliation, unwanted contact and deliberate humiliation are prohibited, whether in person or online. Disagreement in debate must address positions, not personal identity. Delegates must not share private information, photographs or messages to harass another person.
3. Safety and prohibited conduct
Weapons, illegal substances, violence, dangerous conduct, deliberate property damage and entry into restricted areas are prohibited. Alcohol and recreational drugs are prohibited at delegate activities. Delegates must comply with reasonable access controls and emergency instructions. Any immediate danger must be reported to venue security or emergency services, followed by LEVMUN staff.
4. Academic integrity and committee conduct
Plagiarism, fabricated citations, impersonation, forged documents, cheating, deliberate procedural obstruction and misuse of confidential crisis material are prohibited. Delegates must respect the chair’s procedural rulings, subject to the published Rules of Procedure and any available review process. Artificial intelligence use must follow any subsequently published academic policy; LEVMUN must communicate such policy before relevant submissions are due.
5. Photography, recording and communications
Delegates must not photograph or record another participant in private, distressing or sensitive circumstances. Unauthorised live-streaming of closed sessions, publication of confidential crisis material and misuse of participant contact details are prohibited. LEVMUN photography and publication are governed by the separate Privacy Notice and specific media choices, not by compulsory blanket publicity consent.
6. Reporting and non-retaliation
Report concerns to the designated safeguarding lead, the registration desk or the published confidential reporting channel. A report made in good faith will not itself result in discipline. Information will be shared only with persons who need it for safety, fair process or lawful obligations. Confidentiality cannot be guaranteed where safety or law requires disclosure.
7. Fair enforcement
Depending on seriousness, measures may include guidance, warning, seating or committee reassignment, removal from a session, suspension, or exclusion. Serious or imminent risks may justify immediate temporary separation before investigation. Where safe and practicable, the delegate will be told the concern and given an opportunity to respond; decisions will be recorded, proportionate and reviewable by a senior organiser not directly implicated. A parent/guardian will be informed where appropriate for minors. Criminal or safeguarding matters may be referred to competent authorities.
8. Costs and acknowledgement
Participants may be responsible for damage they intentionally cause, to the extent established by applicable law and evidence; LEVMUN does not impose automatic penalties or arbitrary fines. Any removal-related refund is governed by the published Payment and Withdrawal Terms and applicable law. The delegate confirms having read this Code and agrees to comply. For minors, the parent/guardian separately acknowledges the rules and the reporting arrangements.
Safeguarding and Emergency Acknowledgement
Version 1.1 · published 15 October 2026, 19:01 GMT+3
1. Purpose and Scope
1.1. Levant Model United Nations (LEVMUN) is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, inclusive and appropriately supervised environment for all participants during its First Annual Session, scheduled for 5–6 December 2026 in Beirut, Lebanon.
1.2. This Safeguarding and Emergency Acknowledgement establishes the principles, responsibilities and procedures applicable to participant safety, the protection of minors, emergency response, incident reporting and the management of safeguarding concerns.
1.3. This document applies to all registered delegates and, where relevant, their parents or legal guardians. Its safeguarding requirements also inform the responsibilities of Secretariat members, committee leadership, staff, volunteers and other individuals acting on behalf of LEVMUN.
1.4. This document must be read alongside the Delegate Declaration & Code of Conduct, Privacy Notice, and Registration, Payment and Withdrawal Terms.
1.5. LEVMUN recognises that participants under 18 require particular safeguarding consideration and that the safety and welfare of participants must take precedence over administrative convenience, institutional reputation or conference continuity.
2. General Safeguarding Principles
2.1. All participants are entitled to an environment free from harassment, discrimination, intimidation, exploitation, abuse, bullying and other forms of harmful conduct.
2.2. LEVMUN shall adopt reasonable safeguarding measures proportionate to the nature of the conference, the age of participants, venue arrangements and foreseeable risks.
2.3. Safeguarding concerns shall be taken seriously, assessed promptly and addressed according to their nature and urgency.
2.4. No participant shall be subjected to retaliation, intimidation or adverse treatment for raising a genuine concern, reporting suspected misconduct or cooperating in a safeguarding investigation in good faith.
2.5. Confidentiality shall be respected insofar as reasonably practicable, but shall not prevent disclosure necessary to protect an individual, obtain emergency assistance, investigate serious misconduct or comply with legal obligations.
2.6. LEVMUN does not tolerate the concealment, deliberate dismissal or improper suppression of serious safeguarding concerns.
2.7. Participant protection shall remain a priority even where protective action requires modification, suspension or cancellation of conference activities.
3. Protection of Minors
3.1. For the purposes of this document, participants under 18 are considered minors and shall be subject to additional safeguarding requirements.
3.2. Minors must obtain valid parent or legal guardian authorisation before participation can be confirmed.
3.3. The Secretariat may request reasonable verification of guardian authorisation, contact information and any documentation necessary to establish eligibility.
3.4. Parents and legal guardians must be provided with relevant information concerning the conference dates, venue, attendance arrangements, supervision provisions and emergency procedures.
3.5. Minors shall be treated with dignity and respect. Physical punishment, humiliation, coercion, sexual harassment, exploitation and inappropriate personal relationships involving a position of authority are strictly prohibited.
3.6. Secretariat members, committee leadership and staff must maintain appropriate professional boundaries with minors.
3.7. Private, unnecessary or inappropriate one-to-one interactions between an adult staff member and a minor must be avoided. Where individual assistance is necessary, interactions should occur in observable, authorised settings or through approved communication channels.
3.8. Staff shall not use their conference positions to solicit private meetings, personal favours, inappropriate communications or relationships with participants.
3.9. No minor may be deliberately isolated from authorised safeguarding assistance or denied reasonable access to emergency communication.
3.10. Where a safeguarding concern involves a minor, the Secretariat shall consider appropriate guardian notification, confidentiality, the child's safety and any applicable legal reporting duties.
3.11. Guardian notification may be delayed or directed through an appropriate safeguarding or competent authority process where immediate disclosure would reasonably create a risk of harm to the minor.
4. Supervision and Participant Responsibilities
4.1. LEVMUN shall establish reasonable supervision arrangements for activities conducted under its control within the designated conference premises and official programme.
4.2. Participants must comply with reasonable safety instructions issued by authorised conference personnel and venue representatives.
4.3. Participants are expected to remain within authorised conference areas during scheduled activities unless permission to leave is granted or an emergency requires otherwise.
4.4. Participants must not enter restricted rooms, staff-only areas, technical facilities or other locations without appropriate authorisation.
4.5. Participants must not obstruct emergency exits, interfere with safety equipment or engage in behaviour that creates an unreasonable risk to themselves or others.
4.6. Delegates are responsible for reporting unsafe conditions, serious misconduct or emergencies to authorised conference personnel promptly.
4.7. LEVMUN's organised supervision applies to official activities and areas under its reasonable control. Independent journeys, private gatherings and activities outside the official programme are not automatically supervised by the conference.
4.8. The boundaries of conference supervision do not remove any legal duty arising from LEVMUN's own actions, omissions or arrangements.
5. Arrival, Departure and Attendance
5.1. Participants must comply with the official conference schedule, registration procedures and applicable venue access requirements.
5.2. Delegates may be required to check in at designated registration points and present their conference identification when requested.
5.3. Attendance may be recorded for administrative, operational and safeguarding purposes.
5.4. Participants must not lend, transfer or misuse conference identification credentials.
5.5. Where applicable, parents and legal guardians are responsible for arranging appropriate transport to and from the conference.
5.6. LEVMUN shall communicate the relevant arrival, departure and supervision arrangements before the conference.
5.7. Any special arrangements concerning the independent departure or collection of minors must be authorised in accordance with the conference's safeguarding procedures.
5.8. Where a minor is unexpectedly unaccounted for, the Secretariat shall initiate appropriate enquiries and escalation procedures without unnecessary delay.
5.9. No provision concerning arrival or departure shall be interpreted as authorising conference personnel to abandon a minor in an unsafe situation.
6. Health, Medical Conditions and Accessibility
6.1. Participants and, where applicable, their parents or guardians are encouraged to disclose essential information reasonably necessary to facilitate safe participation, emergency assistance or required accessibility arrangements.
6.2. Such information may include serious allergies, relevant medical conditions, accessibility needs or emergency instructions, where disclosure is necessary and lawfully permitted.
6.3. Health-related information shall be handled confidentially, with access restricted to authorised personnel who reasonably require it.
6.4. LEVMUN shall not require the routine disclosure of comprehensive medical histories unrelated to conference safety or participation.
6.5. Participants requiring particular medical support, mobility assistance or reasonable accommodations should notify the Secretariat sufficiently in advance to allow appropriate arrangements to be assessed.
6.6. LEVMUN shall make reasonable efforts to accommodate disclosed needs within the practical, operational and legal limits of the conference.
6.7. LEVMUN does not operate as a medical institution, and conference staff shall not represent themselves as qualified healthcare professionals unless they possess the relevant qualifications and authorisation.
6.8. Participants must not be denied necessary emergency assistance because a medical condition was not previously disclosed.
7. Medical Emergencies
7.1. In the event of an illness, injury or other medical emergency, the Secretariat shall take reasonable and proportionate steps to protect the affected participant and obtain appropriate assistance.
7.2. Depending on the circumstances, such steps may include contacting emergency medical services, requesting assistance from qualified personnel, notifying a parent or legal guardian, and arranging access for emergency responders.
7.3. Immediate threats to life or serious health emergencies shall be escalated without unnecessary delay.
7.4. Conference personnel shall not administer invasive treatment or undertake medical procedures beyond their qualifications, authorisation or applicable emergency assistance obligations.
7.5. A participant's parent, legal guardian or designated emergency contact shall be notified as promptly as reasonably practicable where the circumstances warrant it.
7.6. Where immediate emergency action is necessary and a parent or guardian cannot be reached, the Secretariat may seek professional emergency assistance without waiting for contact to be established, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
7.7. Medical decisions and treatment shall remain subject to the judgement of appropriately qualified healthcare professionals and applicable legal consent requirements.
7.8. LEVMUN shall not withhold or delay necessary medical assistance for administrative, financial or reputational reasons.
8. Emergency Response and Evacuation
8.1. LEVMUN shall coordinate appropriate emergency procedures with the venue before the commencement of the conference.
8.2. These procedures shall address foreseeable risks, including fire, evacuation, security threats, medical emergencies and other significant disruptions.
8.3. Participants must follow lawful evacuation instructions issued by authorised conference personnel, venue safety representatives or competent emergency authorities.
8.4. Participants must not deliberately obstruct evacuations, re-enter restricted areas or interfere with emergency operations.
8.5. Where an evacuation occurs, delegates should proceed calmly to the designated safe area and comply with accountability and attendance procedures.
8.6. Participants must promptly report any person believed to be missing, injured, trapped or otherwise in danger.
8.7. Where a serious emergency affects conference operations, the Secretariat may suspend, relocate or terminate activities to protect participants.
8.8. The decision to resume activities shall take account of the advice of venue representatives, emergency responders and relevant authorities, as appropriate.
9. Security Incidents and Threats
9.1. Threats of violence, possession of dangerous items, intimidation, stalking, physical assault and other conduct creating serious safety risks are prohibited.
9.2. Participants must immediately report credible threats or dangerous situations to authorised conference personnel.
9.3. The Secretariat may implement protective measures, including restricting access, separating involved individuals, contacting guardians or requesting assistance from venue security or competent authorities.
9.4. Where there is an immediate danger, safeguarding and emergency action shall take priority over ordinary disciplinary procedures.
9.5. Participants must not attempt to investigate, confront or physically intervene in dangerous situations where doing so would create further risk.
9.6. LEVMUN may remove individuals from conference activities where reasonably necessary to prevent imminent harm, subject to applicable law and appropriate review.
10. Harassment, Abuse and Inappropriate Conduct
10.1. LEVMUN prohibits harassment, bullying, discrimination, sexual misconduct, exploitation, coercion and other behaviour that undermines participant safety or dignity.
10.2. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:
• Unwanted physical contact or threatening behaviour.
• Sexual harassment, inappropriate advances or exploitation.
• Persistent intimidation, humiliation or targeted bullying.
• Discriminatory abuse or degrading treatment.
• Threats, blackmail or coercive behaviour.
• Unauthorised disclosure of sensitive personal information.
• Inappropriate communication between persons in positions of authority and minors.
• Retaliation against individuals reporting genuine concerns.
10.3. All complaints shall be assessed according to the available information, the seriousness of the allegations and the need for immediate protective measures.
10.4. A safeguarding report does not, by itself, constitute proof of misconduct. Investigations and disciplinary determinations shall respect appropriate procedural fairness.
10.5. Where serious misconduct is substantiated, the Secretariat may impose proportionate disciplinary measures, including removal from the conference or referral to competent authorities.
10.6. Allegations of criminal conduct or abuse shall not be handled exclusively as internal reputational or disciplinary matters where external reporting or intervention is legally required or necessary for safety.
11. Safeguarding Reports and Complaints
11.1. Participants may report safeguarding concerns to an authorised conference staff member or through the official Delegation Affairs contact:
delegations@levantmun.org
11.2. Reports should include sufficient information to identify the concern, where and when it occurred, and any immediate safety risks, insofar as the reporting individual can reasonably provide such information.
11.3. Participants are not required to establish proof of misconduct before reporting a genuine concern.
11.4. Reports may be made by affected participants, witnesses, parents, guardians, staff members or other individuals with relevant information.
11.5. The Secretariat shall ensure that reports are directed to an appropriate person who is not implicated in the concern.
11.6. Where a report concerns a member of the Secretariat or another person responsible for handling complaints, the matter must be escalated outside that person's authority.
11.7. Individuals involved in a reported incident must not exercise sole authority over its investigation or outcome.
11.8. Serious incidents shall be documented appropriately, with restricted access to relevant records.
11.9. Reporting individuals shall be treated respectfully and shall not be pressured to withdraw legitimate complaints.
11.10. Where a complaint presents an immediate risk, protective measures shall not be delayed pending completion of a full investigation.
12. Confidentiality and Incident Records
12.1. Information concerning safeguarding reports, medical emergencies and participant welfare shall be handled confidentially and in accordance with the LEVMUN Privacy Notice.
12.2. Access to such records shall be limited to authorised individuals who require the information for safeguarding, emergency response, investigation or lawful administrative purposes.
12.3. Information may be shared with parents, guardians, healthcare professionals, emergency services or competent authorities where necessary and legally permissible.
12.4. LEVMUN shall not promise absolute confidentiality where disclosure may be necessary to protect an individual or comply with legal obligations.
12.5. Incident records shall be accurate, proportionate and protected against unauthorised disclosure.
12.6. Safeguarding records shall not be used for publicity, retaliation or unrelated institutional purposes.
13. Photography, Recording and Personal Privacy
13.1. Official photography and video recording may take place during conference activities in accordance with the LEVMUN Privacy Notice and applicable permissions.
13.2. Participants must respect the privacy and personal boundaries of others.
13.3. Recording or photographing individuals in private, sensitive or inappropriate circumstances without lawful authorisation is prohibited.
13.4. The publication of images, recordings or personal information intended to harass, humiliate, threaten or exploit another participant is strictly prohibited.
13.5. Participants must comply with reasonable directions concerning photography restrictions and privacy-sensitive areas.
13.6. Additional safeguards shall apply to identifiable images or recordings of minors, including obtaining required authorisation for promotional use.
13.7. Safeguarding concerns involving photography, filming or online conduct may be reported through the established reporting procedure.
14. Substances and Prohibited Items
14.1. The possession, distribution or use of illegal drugs, weapons or other unlawful dangerous items is prohibited during conference activities.
14.2. Alcohol consumption, intoxication and the unauthorised distribution of intoxicating substances are prohibited within the official conference programme.
14.3. Participants must not distribute medication to others without appropriate professional or legal authorisation.
14.4. Possession of legitimately prescribed medication for personal use is not, by itself, prohibited, subject to applicable law and reasonable venue safety requirements.
14.5. Suspected possession of dangerous items or serious substance-related incidents shall be addressed through appropriate protective procedures and, where necessary, referral to competent authorities.
15. Authority of the Secretariat
15.1. The LEVMUN Secretariat is responsible for implementing reasonable safeguarding and emergency arrangements within the scope of conference operations.
15.2. Authorised personnel may issue reasonable safety instructions and take proportionate protective measures where necessary.
15.3. The Secretariat may temporarily suspend an activity, restrict access to an area, separate individuals involved in an incident or request emergency assistance.
15.4. Protective interventions shall be proportionate to the circumstances and must not be used as arbitrary punishment.
15.5. Final disciplinary determinations shall follow appropriate procedures, subject to any immediate action necessary to prevent harm.
15.6. Where a serious safeguarding concern involves senior leadership, appropriate independent escalation must remain available.
15.7. No provision of this document grants any Secretariat member authority to disregard applicable law, conceal serious misconduct or override the legitimate role of competent authorities.
16. Parent and Guardian Responsibilities
16.1. Parents and legal guardians authorising a minor's participation must provide accurate contact information and remain reasonably reachable for necessary conference or emergency communication.
16.2. Parents and guardians should communicate relevant safeguarding, medical or accessibility requirements through the appropriate confidential channels before the conference.
16.3. Parents and guardians are responsible for making suitable travel and collection arrangements where transportation is not expressly provided by LEVMUN.
16.4. Any additional permissions concerning independent arrival, departure or other special arrangements must be provided in accordance with the conference's procedures.
16.5. Parents and guardians are encouraged to contact the Secretariat promptly regarding any serious concern affecting their child's participation.
16.6. Parent or guardian authorisation shall not be interpreted as a waiver of the minor's rights or as a release of LEVMUN from legally applicable safeguarding obligations.
17. Participant Acknowledgement of Risk
17.1. Participants acknowledge that attendance at an in-person conference may involve ordinary risks associated with travel, shared public facilities, group activities and unforeseen emergencies.
17.2. Participants agree to exercise reasonable care, follow safety instructions and avoid conduct that creates unnecessary danger.
17.3. LEVMUN shall take reasonable precautions and implement appropriate safeguarding measures within the scope of its responsibilities.
17.4. No representation is made that participation can be entirely free from risk.
17.5. This acknowledgement does not constitute an assumption of all risks, an unconditional release of liability or a waiver of rights arising from negligence, unlawful conduct or breaches of legally applicable duties of care.
17.6. Nothing in this document limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
18. Emergency Contact and Communication
18.1. Applicants must provide accurate emergency contact information where required by the registration process.
18.2. Emergency contacts should be individuals reasonably capable of responding to urgent communications and assisting with decisions or arrangements within their lawful authority.
18.3. Applicants and guardians must notify the Secretariat of material changes to emergency contact information before the conference.
18.4. In an emergency, LEVMUN may contact the individuals identified in the registration record and, where appropriate, competent emergency services or authorities.
18.5. Emergency contact information shall be used only for legitimate safety, safeguarding or closely related administrative purposes.
18.6. The inability to reach an emergency contact shall not prevent the Secretariat from seeking necessary professional emergency assistance.
19. Non-Compliance and Protective Measures
19.1. Failure to comply with reasonable safeguarding and safety requirements may result in appropriate intervention.
19.2. Depending on the seriousness of the circumstances, measures may include a warning, additional supervision, restrictions on particular activities, suspension or removal.
19.3. Immediate protective removal may be undertaken where credible circumstances indicate a significant and imminent danger to an individual or others.
19.4. Any subsequent disciplinary decision shall be based on an appropriate assessment of the circumstances and available information.
19.5. Refund consequences arising from disciplinary removal shall be governed by the Registration, Payment and Withdrawal Terms and applicable law.
19.6. Protective measures shall not be used to retaliate against individuals who raise safeguarding concerns in good faith.
20. Amendments and Governing Law
20.1. LEVMUN may revise safeguarding procedures to reflect changing operational circumstances, identified risks, venue requirements or applicable legal obligations.
20.2. Material changes affecting participant safety or responsibilities shall be communicated appropriately.
20.3. These provisions shall be interpreted in accordance with the applicable laws of the Lebanese Republic.
20.4. Where any provision conflicts with mandatory legal requirements, those requirements shall prevail.
20.5. If a provision is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue to apply insofar as legally permissible.

1.2. This Media Consent & Image Release governs the authorised capture, processing, publication, distribution and use of identifiable photographs, video recordings, audio recordings and related media featuring conference participants.

1.4. Media consent is voluntary and separate from the mandatory registration acknowledgements.
1.5. Refusal to provide optional media consent shall not, by itself, affect registration eligibility, committee allocation, participation rights or academic evaluation.
2. Authorisation for Media Capture
2.1. By providing affirmative media consent, the participant authorises LEVMUN and its authorised media personnel to photograph, film and record the participant during official conference activities.
2.2. Such authorisation may include the participant's identifiable image, likeness, voice, name, statements, speeches and participation in conference proceedings.

2.6. Participants must not be pressured, intimidated or penalised for refusing optional media participation.
3. Permitted Uses of Media
3.1. Where affirmative consent has been obtained, LEVMUN may use authorised media for legitimate institutional purposes, including:

3.4. This authorisation applies to the official institutional activities of LEVMUN, including the promotion and documentation of future conference editions, subject to the participant's applicable rights.
3.5. LEVMUN shall not knowingly use authorised media for purposes materially unrelated to its institutional activities without obtaining any additional consent legally required.

5. Official Media Personnel and External Providers
5.1. LEVMUN may appoint or engage authorised photographers, videographers, editors, production personnel and other media service providers to document the conference.
5.2. Such personnel may access and process media only as reasonably necessary for their authorised responsibilities.

5.4. Raw media files and unpublished recordings shall not be used by external providers for their independent advertising, portfolios or unrelated commercial purposes without appropriate authorisation.
5.5. Permission granted under this document does not independently authorise conference sponsors or commercial partners to use a participant's identifiable image, likeness or voice in their own advertisements or promotional campaigns.
5.6. Any such independent commercial use shall require an appropriate separate permission where applicable.
6. Protection of Minors
6.1. Participants under 18 require additional safeguards concerning identifiable media capture and publication.

8.1. Copyright and other intellectual property rights in media created by LEVMUN or its appointed providers shall be determined by applicable law and the relevant contractual arrangements.
8.2. A participant's media consent grants LEVMUN permission to use the participant's identifiable image, likeness and voice for the purposes specified in this document. It does not transfer the participant's own intellectual property rights.
8.3. Subject to applicable law and the terms of this consent, LEVMUN may reproduce, edit, publish, display and distribute authorised media for its institutional purposes without seeking separate approval for each individual publication.
8.4. Participants shall not be entitled to payment, royalties or other financial compensation solely because authorised media featuring them is used within the scope of this consent.
8.5. This consent does not authorise the sale or licensing of a participant's identifiable likeness for unrelated commercial exploitation.
8.6. LEVMUN may maintain appropriate institutional archives of authorised media, subject to its Privacy Notice, applicable retention requirements and valid withdrawal requests.
9. Withdrawal of Media Consent
9.1. A participant, or their parent or legal guardian where applicable, may withdraw optional media consent by submitting a written request to:

9.4. Where applicable, LEVMUN shall assess requests for removal of previously published identifiable media and take appropriate action in accordance with applicable law.
9.5. Withdrawal of consent does not automatically render prior lawful processing unlawful.
9.6. Participants acknowledge that LEVMUN may be unable to retrieve or remove copies independently downloaded, reproduced, archived or republished by third parties beyond its control.
9.7. Information or media that must lawfully be retained for safeguarding, evidentiary or other legitimate purposes may be handled in accordance with the applicable legal requirements and the LEVMUN Privacy Notice.

10.2. LEVMUN shall take reasonable operational measures to communicate relevant media restrictions to authorised photographers and videographers.
10.3. Where appropriate, such measures may include restricted capture instructions, identifiable media-exclusion records, adjusted filming arrangements or exclusion of non-consenting individuals from selected promotional footage.
10.4. Refusal of optional consent does not prevent all incidental appearance in independently captured media or circumstances where recording is otherwise lawful.
10.5. LEVMUN shall not knowingly select or publish a non-consenting participant as an identifiable promotional subject without an appropriate lawful basis.
10.6. Participants who have declined consent may notify authorised conference personnel if they believe their media preferences have not been respected.
